| The
donation of your vehicle will help to increase
the amount of funds we have to help Oregon residents
who cannot otherwise afford vital health services.
How
it Works
Vehicles
donated to the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing
Foundation are processed by the Volunteers of
America.
When
you call us at 503-827-6952 or 1-800-635-4667,
we will ask the following information: Donor Name,
Address, Home Phone, Work Phone, Best Time to
Call, Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle, and
any comments you have about the vehicle (such
as has new tires, not running, etc). We then FAX
that information to the Volunteers of America
(VOA) who will contact you within two days.
If
the vehicle is running and you choose to drop
it off, you will receive a $25 gift certificate
for McMenamins Restaurant. However, your vehicle
can be towed at no cost to you.
The
VOA will need your vehicle’s title. They
will walk you through the entire process of signing
it over and will let you know how much the vehicle
is worth for tax purposes.
We
thank you for considering our organization for
donation of your vehicle and look forward to your
call.
Why
Vehicle Donation?
With
recent cutbacks in the Oregon Health Plan, Oregon
residents need our help more than ever to obtain
essential health services, such as vision exams
and eyeglasses, hearing exams and hearing aids.
In addition, the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing
Foundation makes it possible for children in Oregon’s
public schools to obtain vision and hearing screenings
and provides health screenings for the general
public throughout the state through our Mobile
Health Screening Unit. These programs would not
be possible without the contributions of our corporate
sponsors, Lions club support, and donations from
caring individuals like you. Donate a vehicle
today and help give the gift of sight!
