SWEET ON SIGHT

How Sweet it is!
Lions Helping People in Our Communities!

Oregon Lions: Sweet on Sight

A statewide activity to raise funds and awareness

Benefiting MD-36 Lions and the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation

Sight is Sweet with See's: Club sales

1. The Sweet on Sight fund raising program will have a sales period beginning November 19 th , 2007 and running through December 24 th , 2007 .

2. OLSHF will collaborate with the MD-36 Council to promote the Sweet on Sight program and to assist participating Clubs in the program.

3. Clubs will be able to keep the net profits of their sales. The Foundation will receive a rebate on the total sales of the program. The rebate formula is:

•  From $1.00 to $50,749.00 the Foundation will receive a 5% rebate

•  From $50,750.00 to $101,499.00 the Foundation will receive a 7.5% rebate

•  At $101,500 and beyond the Foundation will receive a 10% rebate

4. Clubs will be encouraged to combine orders to reach the 50lbs minimum for free shipping.

5. See's will work with the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation and local Lions Clubs to minimize overlap of sales during the sales period (11/19 to 12/24.) A master account for Oregon Lions will be established that will group all Lions Clubs within the state. Lions Clubs will be discouraged from setting up separate accounts, with the exception of Clubs who have established accounts with See's. See's and the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation will work together to assist Clubs in establishing appropriate territories, blacking out established territories in the state.

See's will handle all invoicing and billing to participating Clubs. See's will communicate with OLSHF about sales progress.

Having a sweet time

Oregon Lions: Sweet on Sight Day

Benefiting MD-36 Lions and the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation

Sweet on Sight Day: Lions Community Day

On the first weekend in May 2008, participating Lions, Lioness and Leos Clubs (all three are eligible to participate in this program) will be visible in their local communities. On this day, participating Clubs will have single wrapped See's Candies to give away in return for a nominal donation.

At this event local Clubs have the chance to build awareness about the Foundation, their local impact on the community and collect eyeglasses. They can, should they choose to do so, sell any remaining candy stock that they have on hand.

For this event:

1. Clubs will be asked to equally share the proceeds of this single day with the Foundation in support of a specific program;

2. See's will donate the single wrapped candies to participating Clubs for this day;

3. See's will provide technical assistance to participating Clubs regarding locations in their local areas.

The Foundation will develop and provide marketing/pr materials and technical assistance to participating Clubs for the Sweet on Service day.

Materials that will be provided to participating Clubs:

•  An Oregon Lions: Sweet on Sight poster that can be printed out at 11"x17" size;

•  Information sheets on the impact of services in the District by the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation;

•  A sample press release about the program that Clubs can modify to talk about the projects/services they provide in the community and announcing the day;

•  Directions on how to submit press releases to their local media;

•  A take away card for the program acknowledging the purchase as well as the money goes toward;

•  A ½ sheet bag stuffer Clubs can use with local businesses announcing the Sweet on Service Day;

•  OLSHF will work with local media to bring awareness to the event and the impact Clubs have on their local community;

•  OLSHF will work with the Governor of Oregon's office to have a proclamation created to commemorate the day.
